DPLF Honors Founding Board Member Ron Scheman

April 19, 2013

April 2, 2013

The Due Process of Law Foundation conveys its deepest sympathies and most profound regret for the unexpected passing of our long-time, founding Board member, Ronald Scheman.   We also express our gratitude for the life of service Ron dedicated to the causes of justice and human rights in the Americas, including through his work with DPLF.

We recall with admiration Ron’s outstanding personal traits as a member of our Board and of the hemispheric community.   He was unfailingly energetic, diligent, courteous, warm, professional, and generous with his time and talents.  For us, Ron Scheman is simply irreplaceable.

We need not speak now of Ron’s many accomplishments in senior positions in the Organization of American States and the Inter-American Development Bank over nearly half a century.   What we can add to the public record is that, no matter how weighty and pressing his many responsibilities, Ron always found time to respond to requests for assistance from our Foundation, and to participate actively in our programs.

We thank you, Ron, for all that you have done for the peoples of the Americas.  We are honored to have been associated with you.   Our thoughts now are with your family in this time of sorrow.

With sympathy and gratitude,

Alejandro Garro, President

Members of the Board and Staff,
